Special Issue Introduction

Colorectal cancer is the most common gastrointestinal malignancy worldwide. Despite clear medical advances in colon cancer treatment, current therapeutic interventions may fail to prevent disease progression to metastatic dissemination. Therefore, it is crucial to identify the different molecular actors that play key roles in the oncogenesis of colorectal cancer. What can molecules be? Synthetic molecules as well as medicinal plants and their metabolites can play a fundamental role in colorectal cancer.
